A dedicated Consumer Law listserv that provides you with immediate access to other consumer law attorneys practicing throughout West Virginia. Get information, share ideas and post questions about strategies, case law, experts and resources. In addition, you will receive up to date information on legislative issues and media coverage that affect consumer law practice areas. Through the WVAJ website, you will also be able to search old messages and responses on the listserv.
The WVAJ Brief Bank will add new folders for consumer law issues. Search the Brief Bank for case filings, orders, expert testimony and other resources from West Virginia cases. You will also have access to TrialSmith, the largest online deposition bank for plaintiff’s attorneys with more than 200,000 depositions, information on experts including trial testimony, verdict and settlement data and more
Special CLE breakout sessions on consumer law issues and emerging trends in conjunction with WVAJ conventions
At least one section meeting per year that includes CLEs on consumer law issues
Governmental affairs and legislative advocacy support to protect and improve the West Virginia civil justice system and critical laws that shield West Virginia consumers and small businesses from abusive credit practices and scams
Media and public education support on consumer law issues
Who Should Join
The WVAJ Consumer Law Section is open to any current or new West Virginia Association for Justice member. To protect information shared on the section listserve, members must certify that their practices do not include defense work and are required to submit a secondary application to the Consumer Law Section leadership committee for approval.
