WVAJ realizes that in today’s world, keeping your personal information private is of utmost importance, and we want to make sure that you know how we will handle any information you may submit on this website, www.wvaj.org. This privacy statement and security policy applies solely to information collected by this website. Purchases and Payments Made on www.wvaj.org
WVAJ Members
When you pay your dues, board assessments, make contributions, register for convention and CLE programs or make another online transaction, that information is directed to a secure database where our staff retrieves and processes your request. Data provided during the submission of your order is recorded as a record in our membership database. That information is used to not only provide you with the service you have purchased, but it also enables us to streamline future communications and marketing with you, which ensures that you learn about resources and services relevant to your interests and practice areas. Payment for your purchase is made on a real-time basis.
Non-Members
WVAJ’s conventions and some other programs are available to non-member attorneys and paralegals. Upon making a purchase online, non-members may be asked to provide their name, employer, address, phone number, email address and West Virginia Bar number, which are used to establish a contact record as well as determine the price for some programs. Your contact information, along with details regarding your purchase, is used to process your order as well as streamline future communications and marketing with you, which ensures that you learn about available programs relevant to your interests and practice areas. Payment for purchase is made on a real-time basis.
Credit Card Information
WVAJ accepts payment with Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. WVAJ takes the safeguard of your credit card information seriously. WVAJ will not realize your credit card account information to any person or entity. Our website’s secure, encrypted system ensures that your transactions with us are safe.
General Security
All information you provide during your visit to www.wvaj.org is available only to WVAJ staff. Financial information (credit card numbers, expiration date and verification number) of members and nonmembers is encrypted. Procedural and technical safeguards are in place to ensure restricted access to your personal and financial information.
Financial information is provided to staff when necessary to process your credit card payment. That financial information is recorded in our membership database where only certain staff members have access to the information. That membership database is secure.
Although we take every precaution when it comes to protecting the information our visitors provide, WVAJ recognizes that “true” security doesn’t exist on the Internet—even the most well-reviewed, comprehensive security policies can be fallible. If you believe that your financial information has been compromised, know your rights by contacting your credit card provider or visiting the Federal Trade Commission website. Should your credit card information be exploited without your consent, under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you may have no liability for unauthorized use.

More often than not, WVAJ uses email as a means of direct communications with our members as well as non-members who have registered for previous convention and seminar programs.
